Seller Guide
Seller auction guide for North Texas estates, businesses and collections
Vintage Vault Auctions is an independent online auction company in Cleburne, Texas. This guide answers the questions sellers ask most before they request a free assessment.
How do estate auctions work?
An estate auction replaces the traditional one-day, in-person sale with an online auction. After an assessment of the property and its contents, items are grouped into lots, photographed and described, then published online so bidders can browse and bid during a set period.
When bidding closes, payment and buyer pickup are coordinated. We coordinate with families and executors, but we do not provide legal advice.
Estate liquidation auctionsWhat can be sold in an estate auction?
Typical estate contents include furniture, décor, housewares, linens, antiques, jewelry, tools and collectibles. Final acceptance of items depends on the project assessment, so describe what you have and we will tell you what suits an auction.
How does business liquidation work?
Business liquidation turns equipment, fixtures, surplus inventory and other commercial assets into cash through a structured online auction. It suits closures, relocations and equipment changes. The process follows the same assessment, cataloging, online bidding and pickup steps used for estates.
Business liquidation auctionsCan I consign individual items or collections?
Yes. Send a description and photographs of quality items or whole collections. We review them and let you know whether they suit an upcoming auction.
Consignment auctionsWhat is the difference between onsite and offsite auctions?
Onsite means the sale is prepared at the property where the items are located. Offsite means items are brought to another location for preparation. The better choice depends on access, volume and location, which we review during the assessment.
On-site and off-site auctionsHow long does an online auction process take?
The timeline depends on the size of the project, access to the items, cataloging time and the bidding period chosen for the auction, followed by payment and pickup. We do not quote a fixed timeline here. Tell us your preferred timing in a free assessment and we will discuss what is realistic.
How do buyers bid?
Online bidding is hosted through AuctionSpear.com. Bidders create an account, which is free, browse the catalog and place bids during the auction. Pickup is coordinated after bidding closes.
